Where are your locations?

We have two slopeside locations in Northern New Mexico: Cottam's Taos Ski Valley at 100 Sutton Pl, Taos Ski Valley, and Cottam's Angel Fire at 40 N Angel Fire Rd, Angel Fire. Both shops are steps from the lifts — no shuttles, no parking lot treks. We'll share updated hours and contact details for each location as we get closer to our November 2026 reopening.

Are reservations required for rentals?

Reservations aren't required, but we strongly recommend them. A reservation guarantees you'll have the equipment you want when you arrive. Without one, we can't promise your first choice will be available. Reserving also lets us pull the right gear for your skill level and boot size ahead of time — so you spend less time in the shop and more time on the mountain.

How do I choose the right rental package?

We offer three tiers. Junior packages are for kids 12 and under who are learning the ropes. Silver / All Mountain is great for intermediate skiers and riders — upgraded gear that makes a real difference on the slopes. Gold / Demo is top-of-the-line equipment for intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders who want the best performance available.

What if I have my own boots?

No problem at all. Our online packages include boots by default, but if you bring your own, we're happy to adjust your rental and offer a discount in-store. Just let us know when you arrive.

Are helmets included in my rental package?

Helmets aren't included in the base package since many guests travel with their own. We have helmets available to rent at $14.95/day and strongly recommend everyone wear one. We also carry helmets for purchase at both locations.

When is the best time to pick up my equipment?

If you have a morning lesson or want to be first on the lifts, pick up your gear the evening before — anytime after 3 PM at no extra charge. Mornings are our busiest time with everyone grabbing gear before the lifts start turning. If you're picking up same-day, coming in after 10 AM means shorter wait times.

Can I pick up my equipment the day before I plan to use it?

Yes — you can pick up anytime after 3 PM the day before your rental starts at no additional charge. We recommend coming after 5 PM if you can, since the return rush is usually over by then.

How do I return rental equipment?

Return your gear to the same location where you picked it up, by 10 AM the day after your rental period ends. We'll check the equipment and get you on your way quickly.

Can I pick up at one location and return at another?

Unfortunately, no. Equipment must be returned to the same location where it was picked up. Please plan accordingly when choosing your rental location.

What is your cancellation policy?

We get it — plans change. We require a $20/item deposit when you reserve, but we're happy to cancel and refund the deposit if you give us at least 48 hours' notice before your pickup time. We can still cancel within 48 hours, but the deposit is non-refundable at that point.

What does the equipment coverage plan cover?

The $5/day coverage plan protects you against damage to the rental equipment during your rental period. It does not cover loss or theft.

Do you offer group rates?

Yes — for groups of 15 or more, we offer competitive group rates that vary by size and duration. The group leader receives a complimentary rental package, and the group gets discounts on tuning and merchandise. Give us a call to set up your group reservation.

Are discounts available during the holidays?

Online and promotional discounts are not available from December 24 through January 1. Regular pricing applies during that period.
